Questions
How do I move my Character.AI character to Promptchan?
Open your character on Character.AI, tap Edit, open Advanced so the Definition shows, and take a screenshot (two if it is long). Upload them here. We read the name, personality, greeting and scenario, you check them over, generate a new portrait, and start chatting.
Do you keep my screenshots?
No. They are read once to fill in your character and never stored. Before you have an account they wait only in your own browser.
Is the portrait made from my screenshot?
No. The portrait is generated from scratch from a text description you can edit. We never use your screenshot, or any image, to make it.
Why was my character refused?
Promptchan is for adults and original characters. We cannot bring over a character who is, or reads as, under 18 or is set in a school, a real person, or an existing character from a show, game, anime or book.
Does it cost anything?
No. Importing is free, and we add the Gems for your character’s first portrait. Another portrait costs the usual Gems.
